Who is Ken Jennings?

Here is the picture of my son Chris (L) with Jeopardy champ Ken Jennings.
It's an old picture (2007). Chris got his autograph too.
Ken is the trivia whiz...and I love trivia. He is also LDS and a very cool guy. With a lot of prize money from Jeopardy!!!

irish immersion

I spent all day Saturday at an Irish Immersion class at the Gaelic American club. It was so much fun and I met so many interesting people.
Irish is a tough language to learn. I really only wanted to learn the basics...which include, Ta' tinneas cinn orm. It means I have a headache...which I always seem to have.
There was Irish Set dancing and poetry (in Irish). I was amazed at the number of people fluent in Irish (or Gaelic)
I won a CD and had a great lunch which included potato soup and Irish Soda bread (my favorite).
All in all it was a Grand Day!!!!

The Senorita and the Governor

I'm so excited that I figured out how to upload this picture.
This is my granddaughter with Governor Huntsman of Utah. She was asked to help date a bill for Spanish Language in schools there. She is in a Spanish immersion program at her school. Could she be any cuter ?

Mama Mia

I am a little late with this blog. Two weeks ago GooGoo and I took the train (thanks Alex) into NYC to see Mama Mia.
It was one of those beautiful New York days. The kind that you want if you are spending all that money to spend the day there.
This trip was my birthday gift from GooGoo and family. And it was a great choice.
We grabbed lunch in Grand Central Station. Not really a good idea. Sooooooo expensive. We then walked to the Wintergarden Theater just in time for curtain call.
I really loved the play. I've wanted to see it since it first opened. You just can't beat Abba's music. And our seats were great.
They should have a dance floor for the patrons because you just want to get up and dance through the whole play.
After the play we took a cab to "Little Italy". We walked around like we just fell off the turnip truck!! We didn't know where to look for a good Italian restaurant. (Alex told us later we were two blocks off). So we took a cab back, hopped on the train and ate at Avenelo's in Ffld. And that was alot of fun. We really enjoyed our food.
I really do LOVE New York!!!
And tomorrow I am having a birthday dinner a GooGoo's. I can't wait to see the play tickets she will have for me then!!! Haha.
